Parents attitudes that could hinder Child Achievement

Each unique interests and talents can make their children be children who excel. Only, the formation of a winning mentality and achievements they need the support of parents, families, and the immediate environment of children.
"The support parents give a huge influence on a child's success in the field," says psychologist Mira D. Amir in Jakarta.

Mira added, ideal interaction that exists between parent and child can be the perfect opportunity to find out their talents and interests of children, so parents can direct, support, provide a balanced nutritional intake, as well as providing a range of facilities required. Unfortunately, many parents do not understand the aspirations and wishes of children to grow and excel.
"Even the worst of all, parents are even so inhibitors of children to excel," he said.
Some of the attitudes of parents who can hinder children's achievement include:
1. Angry mother. One of the factors that cause is the nature of underachievers who tend to be ill-tempered mother. "My mother would often scold her children become rather rebellious," says Mira. As a result, children will find an outlet, so they tend to act in a negative direction and is not capable of achievement.
2. Forcing children to be "smart". Each parent must have the desire to have a smart kid. Various means were done with parents to make their children smarter, including stuffing them with various tutoring lessons after school. Yet children also need time to play.
"Time to play for the kids can actually help them to relax. In contrast, burdening the child will learn to always make them so stressful and it did not perform well," he explained.
3. Violence on children. Factors of child abuse, would make the children become depressed. Depressed state could make them unable to express their desires and talents. Fear of the threat will make the child obey orders and was forced to do it.
"Because of necessity, the work they do will not be maximized, and finally to no maximum achievement," said Mira.
4. Gadget addictionIn the era of technology as it is now, gadgets into one powerful weapon to pass the time. The gadget is also considered to be a way to make children think and not fussy. Another reason to introduce the gadget in young children as well as for technological literacy.
"Unfortunately, they do not realize that the gadget also has a downside that could make children addicted, and so lazy to learn. Dividing the right time, and utilizing technology properly, will make the children become literate and technology savvy," he explained.
